KidneyKidMom is all about myself, Z’s Mama, opening up to the entire world on what it’s like to be the mother of a little boy who was born with MCDK. I will be discussing struggles, accomplishments, and the many sleepless nights that I have as not only a first time mom but also a mom of a child with kidney complication.
As you may have read I am a first time mother to a little boy who we will call Z. I recently turned twenty-five, but I gave birth to Z almost a year ago at the age of twenty-four. He was born four days before he was expected, naturally in December of 2018. And, well so far he has added a little bit of crazy to the lives of not only myself but his dad as well. We found out about baby Z’s kidney condition at our 23week scan. That scan was the scariest moment of our lives. We had no idea what MCDK was or what it would mean for us and the fate of our baby. We researched, and we researched, and we researched. Before work, during work, after work we reasearched. From the moment we woke up to the time we went to bed everynight, we researched. We asked questions at every appointment but not knowing is what was eating at our minds. We would never know for sure until Z was born, and well here we are.
Join us on our journey as we not only grow as a family, but as we educate ourselves on MCDK. Our goal is to educate as many people as we can on this condition. Welcome to our lives, hopefully you’ll stick around long enough to experience this with us. I promise you, you’re in for an interesting time.
xoxo
